Task of the project was the extension of the freight cost management system VCE FRAME from Europe-wide road and rail transport to the worldwide road, rail, water and air transportation of BMW.
The requirements here also included the mapping of combined, multimodal transports, repacking of containers, calculation of alternative transport variants (e.g. different container sizes) and allocation of shipments to multimodal relations based on source-sink information.
